*Thump*.....back to reality....

So, I've been back 5 days and my holiday blues have seen me looking up jobs abroad and wanting to up-sticks , balling my eyes out and looking up holidays for next year.

My holiday blues seem to get worse and worse every year, my dream of eventually settling down abroad lives on....

This blog may be a bit all over the place because thats how my head feels at the moment!

I've come back to an empty house and a deadline to find a new place (which is pretty crap). I don't get stressed very easily, but at this moment in time I am feeling it!!! When my mind is all over the place I find solace in sitting in starbucks watching the world go by, I check for new youtube video's from the people that motivate me, get plenty of rest and sleep and train!!! All of which I have done today on my only day off for a while!

Right, let's rewind to while I was away.... I DID train, just like I said I would, the gym wasn't great but it was WAY better than any foreign hotel gym I've been to before. It had some free weights, a (dodgy) smith machine, hack squat, (dodgy) leg press, cable machine's, (very dodgy) spin bikes, and the odd other weight's machines. What you learn as time goes on is, you learn to make the best of situations and making them work for you, mainly by adjusting exercises/reps/sets/techniques. I used a lot of resistant circuit training with moderate weight and higher reps, making the most of the free weights! I kept the sessions short but intense, ensuring I got an effective workout without missing out on any of my holiday. I would also go for a morning run around the dry canal they had near the hotel, which had amazing views and was a beautiful way to start the day. The hotel held 'aqua gym' and 'zumba' which I also took part in, it was so much fun seeing everyone enjoying being active and helped people socialise. This is something that is so refreshing, the instructors were so enthusiastic and had fabulous sense of humours!!! I still managed to pile on the weight with the fabulous food and desserts that they had, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I knew that once I got back to reality I wouldn't be eating quite as much.

Since being back I've slowly gotten back to my training routine, although I am not actively doing any cardio except the odd 5/10mins at the start/end of my leg sessions. I currently have NO set goal when it comes to my diet, I've even stopped tracking my macro's SHOCK, HORROR!! I have decided to just be sensible and completely listen to my body (I eat regularly and if I'm hungry in-between, I eat!!). I actually think this method is working better for me than tracking my macro's, I'm not consumed by weighing everything and counting calories, which I feel has made me less hungry!!!! My training goals are to build my strength again, because changing my routine while I was away has slightly affected my lower body strength. I also started incorporating sumo deadlifts back into my routine this week, which I struggle with due to my crap grip (I desperately need to work on my grip). To properly get back into my training I've been more or less sticking with exercises that I enjoy and find most effective.

As the week's gone on, I've started to feel less sluggish, bloated and down, my energy levels have been restored, my stomach doesn't look like it's holding a baby anymore and I slowly starting to feel in higher spirits. I genuinely feel this is all down to eating an unnecessarily high amount of stodgy food, nutritional foods never make me feel like this, so getting back on track this week has been easy peasy!!!

I hope you've enjoyed reading this holiday blog and keep following guys!!!! Let me know if there is anything you would like me to blog about or if you want to find out some more about a specific topic!!!
